Brad Stratton leads the Cat 3/4 field up the hill at the Binghamton race.
CBRC was in the thick of things at Binghamton with several top-ten finishes – Brad Stratton made a brave go of it on the last lap of the Men’s 3/4 race, joined off the front by teammate Seth Demarrais, but the field caught them at the line. Brad and Seth held on for 5th and 9th, respectively.
Also riding strongly was new member Dylan Dearborn, taking 5th and 9th place in the Men’s cat 5 races.
At Quabbin, CBRC member Stacy Maziejka braved the rain and sub-40 degree temperatures to take 9th (assumed due to a timing chip malfunction) out of 11 survivors from the 17 starters in the Women’s cat 4 race.

CBRC was well represented at America’s Toughest Race! Over half of the club was at the event, either racing or helping out.
Emma White had the best finish of the day, taking first place in the Women’s 13-14 race. Dylan Dearborn took 3rd place in the Cat5 (under 35) race. Kevin Mosher (racing for Keltic) scored 4th in the 50+ race. And Brad Stratton took 5th in the fastest Cat4 race of the day. Congratulations to all who finished!
We also wish a speedy recovery to Steve Gravel, who injured his shoulder in a crash.

We plan to hold the Brinkerhoff Memorial Race as scheduled for this Saturday, 4/2/11, despite the forecast for snow on Thursday and Friday. The forecast for Saturday is partly sunny with temperatures in the 40s and continued wind, as we had for the first two races. We expect the roads to be clear of snow and ice well before race time, but will check on road and weather conditions and confirm on Friday evening. We will send emails and change the BikeReg page if there is a need for cancellation, but for now, please plan on racing.
